Spiritual Development: A Journey From Within
Spiritual development isn't just about mediumship, psychic ability or what some people might call the "spooky stuff." For me, it is first and foremost a journey within yourself.
We often talk about mind, body and soul, but spiritual development is about beginning to understand how all those parts of us connect. It is about listening to your heart, developing your intuition and becoming more aware of yourself, other people and the world around you.
I've been working professionally in this field for around 15 years, with my own spiritual journey beginning long before that. I've attended the Arthur Findlay College, taken part in many different development classes and continued learning through both formal training and life experience.
And I'm still learning. I think that's important.
We All Have Intuition
You don't need to want to become a medium to develop spiritually.
We all have intuition. The interesting part is discovering how your intuition communicates with you.
For one person it might be through cards. Someone else might connect through tea leaf reading, automatic writing, meditation, energy work or simply developing the confidence to trust those feelings they've spent years ignoring.
Spiritual development can include exploring areas such as:
- intuition and awareness
- chakras and the aura
- meditation and energy
- mediumship
- cards and divination
- tea leaf reading
- automatic writing
- remote viewing
- past-life exploration
- Reiki and healing
- understanding your own patterns and emotions
You don't have to master everything. Spiritual development is personal, and everyone's path is different.
Your Development Is About You
One of the most important things I teach is that spiritual development is not a race.
I've studied hypnotherapy, life coaching, CBT and Reiki alongside my mediumship and spiritual work. Qualifications have their place, particularly where professional standards and recognised training are important.
But Spirit doesn't hand us certificates!
Some of our greatest lessons come through living.
We learn through mistakes, relationships, challenges, successes and the times when life doesn't go according to plan. Sometimes we begin to recognise patterns or beliefs that we've carried for years without understanding where they came from.
That is where my therapeutic background and spiritual work can complement one another.
Rather than concentrating only on developing a spiritual ability, I encourage people to look at the whole person — mind, body, emotions and spirit.
Spiritual development should help you understand yourself better, not make you somebody you're not.
Learning With Like-Minded People
I offer opportunities for both individual and group spiritual development.
Online sessions can be a useful way of connecting wherever you live, but I particularly enjoy bringing people together face-to-face. There is something special about sitting with like-minded people, having a coffee or lunch, talking openly and sharing experiences.
We can learn an enormous amount from each other.
I'd also love to encourage more people to develop the confidence to use their abilities in their own way. That might eventually mean working on a platform, helping others, developing healing abilities, writing, painting, speaking or bringing a greater spiritual awareness into whatever you already do.
You don't need to become another version of me.
The aim is to discover more of you.
Elgin Spiritualist Group – Growing Together
Spiritual development doesn't always have to happen in a classroom or on a course. Sometimes some of the best development comes simply from being around like-minded people, sharing experiences, asking questions and feeling that you belong.
That's one of the reasons we set up the Elgin Spiritualist Group.
We hold a mediumship evening in Elgin on the third Monday of every month, with a medium joining us for an evening of mediumship and spiritual connection.
It's an opportunity to experience mediumship, meet others and become part of a friendly local spiritual community.
The Facebook group is a closed private group, giving members a welcoming space to keep in touch, hear about upcoming mediums and events, and share information.
Whether you've been developing spiritually for years, are beginning to explore your own intuition, or you're simply curious and would like to experience an evening of mediumship, you're very welcome.
Join the Elgin Spiritualist Group on Facebook:

For me, this is another important part of spiritual development — community, connection and learning from one another.
Take Your Next Step
If you've found yourself becoming more intuitive, questioning things differently or simply feeling that there must be something more you'd like to explore, you're very welcome to get in touch.
You can join one of my spiritual development opportunities or arrange an individual spiritual development session where we can explore where you are now and what you'd like to develop.
And don't worry — it isn't all about ghosts and spooky experiences!
It's about awareness, intuition, healing, personal growth and learning to trust yourself.
I've accumulated a great deal of experience over the years, but I also know when another practitioner or teacher may be better suited to what somebody needs. Spiritual development should never be about one person having all the answers.
It's a journey.
And sometimes having the right people around you makes that journey a little easier.
